It took me 4 years to train and obtain my Black Belt in Kung Fu, but I persevered. There were many times, ESPECIALLY during the final 8 months leading up to my black belt test that I wanted to give up. The 3 things that I kept thinking were 1) I am not a person who gives up. Once I start something, I finish it; 2) If I give up, then I know that I will regret it; and 3) If my mom could achieve her black belt in Tae Kwon Do at age 54, then I MUST do this. She is my role model. Passing my black belt test was one of the hardest yet most satisfactory accomplishments that I have ever achieved. I guarantee, as I am sure that you already know, that you will feel the same about achieving your Iron Maiden once you succeed.
